Biohair is a wig made to recreate the colour, length and style you've always worn. Here's what it involves and who it's for.
If you've spent time in hair loss communities, you may have come across the word biohair. Here's what it means, and why it matters to so many of the women we work with.
Bio hair refers to natural hair that grows from the scalp. To us it means recreating the way you've always worn your hair — your colour, your length, your parting and your style. Rather than choosing a new look, the goal is for you to look in the mirror and simply see yourself.
Biohair is often chosen by women facing hair loss who want as little visible change as possible — for themselves, their families, their workplaces or their children. It's especially popular with women preparing for chemotherapy, and those living with alopecia who'd like their wig to feel like an extension of who they've always been.
Our human hair wigs are made from Brazilian hair, with each wig coming from just one or two donors. This keeps the texture and movement consistent from root to tip, so the hair behaves like your own. You can read more about how our wigs are made.
Because each biohair piece is created for you, allow around six to eight weeks. If you're facing hair loss from treatment, we recommend getting in touch as early as you can, so your wig is ready before you need it.
Bring a few photos of your hair from different angles and in natural light, and book a free consultation at our Gold Coast boutique, or by phone or video. We'll talk through everything with you.
